What you should know about this site
Information that the Council seeks via this site is broad-ranging advice regarding policy direction as it effects individuals with disabilities rather than specific individual experiences. You may tell us your individual experiences and we may find, (if your experience is similar to that of others), areas that need improvement by ACCES-VR but the information can not be kept confidential.
It may be to your benefit to contact your counselor directly regarding any complaints you may have regarding service. If you cannot reach an agreement with your counselor, you may contact ACCES-VR’s consumer complaint line by calling 1-800-222-5627.
The Council CAN NOT and DOES NOT guarantee confidentiality of submitted information. Many people have access to the material that is submitted through this site. The information is reviewed, analyzed for statistical purposes, and sent on to the Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services - Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) for resolution and response.
State Rehabilitation Council
The Council provides advice and support to The State Education Department’s Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) on behalf of people with disabilities and their families regarding the delivery of effective rehabilitation services that leads to employment for New Yorker's with disabilities.
