Nurse Aide | Total - 125 Theory/Skills:95 Internship: 30 School must show that it has a BPSS teacher licensed as Primary Instructor (RN with 2 years practical experience caring for elderly and/or chronically ill). |
Skills Checklist | Curriculum Application (to be completed) | DOH state exam through Prometrics. After approval, BPSS will notify DOH and Prometrics. The school will then set up testing with Prometrics. |

However, a CNA with 1 or more years of full-time work experience within the past 5 years may go to a DOH licensed home care agency with a training program - and take a competency evaluation to obtain the HHA certificate. |
Patient Care Technician (PCT) | Student already has a CNA certificate and pursues training in EKG and Phlebotomy. The total number of hours will vary, with about 50 hours for EKG and 50-60 hours for phlebotomy. | School creates exam from BPSS approved curriculum. NYS currently (2016) does not have mandated curriculum for EKG and Phlebotomy. |
