In New York State, there are four pathways to a High School Equivalency diploma. Below is information on each pathway.

2025 NYSED Virtual Training Required for all HSE Test Center Coordinators and Examiners
“Save the date” for the next HSE test center training to be held virtually on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, 10 am – 12 pm. Please complete and submit the registration form: https://forms.office.com/r/5xKY4ii7ib. As noted on the form, the link for the session will be sent to all registrants before the session. GED Mobile App Now Available
GED Testing Service recently released the free Official GED® Mobile App to help students prepare for and pass the GED® test. The Mobile App is available to download from the Apple App store for iPhone users. It is expected to be available for Android phones early in 2025. Learn more at: GED Mobile App
National External Diploma Program (NEDP) National Conference

Change in 24 College Credit Pathway
Effective May 1, 2024, there will no longer be a $10 fee for submitting the College Credit Pathway Application J form. The application and college transcript are evaluated by the HSE Office to determine if they meet the criteria for an HSE diploma. The HSE Status Verification Report Has Been Upgraded
The HSE Status Verification Report has been significantly upgraded. This site now offers GED candidates additional helpful information about their HSE testing records, including which subject tests are still required to be passed to obtain an HSE diploma.
